Narazie udało mi się znaleźć info o tym że to jednak amerykańcy będą robić Akirę, i jeśli to nie jest tylko plotka to:
In one of its most bonehead maneuvers ever seen, Warner Brothers Studios has announced that they have greenlit the project for a live action version of the Japanese classic Akira. The film is to be based on a compilation of the art novel and the animated feature.
"I've been a fan of the anime for many years and understood which elements would have to be brought to a live-action translation of it," [screenwriter James] Robinson told Daily Variety. "I've tried to retain as many iconic elements of the anime as possible."
The project was placed in Robinson's hands after Director Stephen Norrington had been developing the project with Warner Brothers executives. After numerous pitches, all of which were not liked by the executives, Norrington finally got the go ahead. The film will be shot in English and will basically be an American live action version.
As fans have seen in the past, anime does not translate into live action easily and will most likely result in "B" movie quality, or a steaming heap of dung that the most rancid cow in the world is incapable of producing. One can only hope that this is a rumor gone wrong, or that the project will be short lived and cancelled. Director Stephen Norrington past works include sub par comic book recreations. His latest film was entitled "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". Hopes are riding high, not that this movie will be bearable, but that it will never see the light of day.
