15:50 Having been rumoured for some time, unconfirmed information about the existence of a third game in the Fallout RPG series reared its head on the Internet earlier in the week. This next title, which it is said will be developed by Black Isle Studios, is apparently going by the name of Fallout Fantasy.
Needless to say, we wanted to find out if there was any truth behind the rumour, so we gave Virgin Interactive a call. Little did we know, however, that the Black Isle Studios title publisher was about to give us a rather large surprise.

"We can confirm that Black Isle Studios is working on a new Fallout title, although we are unable to comment on the name at this time," a spokesperson told us. Suddenly we heard the distant rumble of drums, rising steadily to an Earth-shattering crescendo - nobody's ever beaten their sticks for our benefit before - as we were struck dumb by truly uplifting words that floated gently into our ears: "In fact, Black Isle is working on two Fallout games currently." Yes folks! There're two! Somebody's obviously been popping the power pills...

While happy to excitedly leap up and down with us in syncopating rhythm over this news, our spokesperson was sadly unable to give us any specific gameplay details on either title. He did say, though, that an official announcement would be coming soon.

With two as yet un-named games based on the Fallout franchise on the way (apparently the name "Fantasy" is just that after all), it's quite possible that at least one of them will diverge from the traditional gameplay set out by the first two titles. We shall have to wait and see.
